FAQ

  • Is therapy right for me?

Therapy can be helpful for anyone who wants support in navigating life’s challenges, big or small. You don’t have to bear things alone—therapy provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to be heard, explore your thoughts and feelings, and receive support on your healing journey.

  • How do I know if we're a good fit?

Therapists aren’t one-size-fits-all. Finding someone you feel connected to—someone who truly sees and hears you—is important. I’m happy to have a brief conversation to see if we might be a good fit. If it feels like a match, we can discuss what starting therapy would look like. If not, I’m glad to offer referrals to help you find the right support.

  • What is art therapy?

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative expression—like drawing, painting, or other art-making—to help process emotions, explore thoughts, and gain insight. For more art therapy-related Q & A, please visit my Art Therapy page.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I work with clients on a self-pay basis or as an out-of-network provider, but I do not bill insurance directly. I’m happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I’ve also partnered with Thrizer to make this process simpler, and I’m glad to answer any questions you may have. Visit my Insurance page for more info.

  • What does therapy cost?

My standard rate is $225 for a 50-minute session and is due at the time of service. Many clients with out-of-network benefits are able to be reimbursed for approximately 40–80% of my full session fee through their insurance, once any deductible has been met.

To help make therapy more accessible, I offer a limited number of reduced-fee slots. Please reach out if you’d like to discuss options.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

Sessions are usually paid by credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card using a a HIPAA-secure platform. Reach out if you’d like to discuss other payment options.
